How the Work Goes

1. Inspect

We check the faucet, the vacuum breaker, and the pipe behind it, and look for signs of a past freeze such as a bulge or a hairline split.

2. Repair or Replace

Minor leaks are repaired on the spot. A failed or non-frost-proof faucet is replaced with a frost-proof unit, with a small access opening inside if needed.

3. Test

We run the faucet, check for leaks with a hose connected, and confirm the interior shutoff works.

Winterizing Tips

Disconnect hoses before the first hard freeze, close the interior shutoff, and open the outdoor faucet to drain it. If your spigots have no interior shutoff or are not frost-proof, that is the upgrade to make before winter.
